YouTube: Movie rentals contribute meager $10,709.16 earnings

Mumbai: Popular video sharing website YouTube ventured into to the segment of digital movies and began renting out certain films.
The films that were rented were the ones popular at the recently held Sundance festival. However, not many were up to rent out movies.
If one was to sum up earnings from this rental business so far at YouTube it stands at a meager $10,709.16.
Post Sundance festival the fate of movie rental segment at YouTube remains to be seen. For starters YouTube is making an effort to tie up with a number of video partners to attract more people to its site.
