Mumbai- Following a series of protests and controversies, the latest controversy to hit Prakash Jha’s controversial film is that the Entertainment department in Uttar Pradesh has demanded in writing for a pre-screening of Aarakshan prior to the release of the film on 12th August.
They have demanded for a preview of the film in order to verify as to whether the film contains any anti-reservation message that could result in public agitation post release of the film.
Their petition also stated that the special screening of Aarakshan will be viewed by Entertainment Tax secretary, members of Entertainment along with other government departments.
The producers of the film have are ready to abide by their request and arrange for a special screening on 9th August but they have not received a green signal in this regard from the government yet.
