IPL4 sees 21.8% skid in its TV ratings

The ongoing season of the Indian Premiere League made a skid of 21.8% TV ratings compared to the previous season. The first 26 cricket matches’ average rating fell to 4.3 TVR as per the survey conducted in 6 metros by TAM Sports.

The first 26 matches of IPL3 made an average rating of 5.5 TVR. The third season of the Indian Premiere League was the most flourishing one. The first season of IPL made a TVR rating of 5.3 while in the second season it dropped to 4.73 TVR.

IPL2 was played in South Africa and its timings too were not apt for primetime viewing. The 10 matches of IPL4 fetched an average rating of 4.2 TVR. The maximum ratings were fetched by the match played between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians, earning a rating of 6.7 TVR.

On the other hand the lowest rating was fetched during the match played between Delhi Daredevils and Deccan Chargers earning a low rating of 2.15 TVR.

This is till date the lowest TVR ratings amongst all matches that have been played.

Star Plus was at the top after losing 19 GRPS, followed by Colors at No 2 with 227 GRPs, Zee TV at No 3 with 193 GRPs, Sony Entertainment Television at No 4 with 193 GRPs, Sab with 139 GRPs, Imagine TV with 61 GRPs, Star One with 36 GRPs and Sahara One with 29 GRPs.
