Mumbai- Akshay Kumar made an exception by attending the premiere of “Thank You” which is co-produced by his wife Twinkle Khanna.
Akki along with Bobby Deol geared up to attend the premiere of the film at Juhu’s Chandan theatre. The Mumbai traffic did not even spare the Bollywood A-listers who had gone for a ride with a stranger.
An eyewitness stated “Akshay and Bobby stopped a surprised passerby, on a motorbike. They hopped on double-pillion and proceeded to the much delayed premiere screening.”
A crowd followed the motorbike till the theatre. Recalling the chaos, filmmaker Anees Bazmee stated “It was a sight straight out of one of my comedies.”
Bazmee said further, “We were waiting for Akshay and Bobby at Chandan, when we saw them riding into the venue on a stranger’s motorbike with a huge group of people running after them.”
He said, “We had no clue what was happening, until the flustered boys told us that the road leading to Akshay’s house was blocked with traffic.”
Bazmee added “We had hired elephants to take the two actors inside the theatre compound. Quite understandably, Akshay and Bobby were in no mood to ride elephants after the wild motorcycle ride.We just let the elephants loiter at the premiere as part of our invitees.”
