Mumbai: Band Baaja Baaraat- Review- Yash Raj film “Band Baaja Baaraat” has hit theatres yesterday. The film stars Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh in the lead pair.
We have earlier seen several films under the Yash Raj banner based on weddings such as “Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge”, “Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai”, but the latest “Band Baaja Baarat” is slightly different as the film focuses on wedding planning as a profession.
In the film Shruti (Anushka Sharma) is a final year student who decides to become a wedding planner.
She is so determined with her ambition that she even keeps the name of her company “Shaadi Mubarak”. Shruti meets Bitoo (Ranveer Singh) a cool and chilled out college student who is not sure what to do with his life.
The two soon become friends despite their contrasting personalities. Very soon they become business partners too. Shruti believes in a simple funda– Jisse vyapaar karo, usse kabhi na pyaar karo.
Their relationship grows along with their business. In the process Shruti falls in love with her business partner Bitoo and thereby breaks her own rule.
The film is a must watch for two main reasons. Firstly it is not another love story and secondly it has a refreshing script and a story that is colorful and vibrant.
It successfully portrays the Yash Raj tinge of drama and romance against the background of a grand Indian wedding.
From playing the role of a simple girl in her debut film “Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi” to a modern glamorous girl in “Badmaash Company”, Anushka Sharma has transformed her personality in her latest release. Newcomer Ranveer Singh too did a fantastic job.
