New Delhi: The legendary Amitabh Bachchan has once again proved his magic on the silver screen with Kaun Banega Crorepati 4 thereby topping the charts among the Hindi GECs (general entertainment channels) propelling Sony Entertainment Television to number 3 ahead of Zee TV.
On the very opening day, KBC 4 fetched a TVR of 6.2 in the HSM (Hindi speaking markets) and for the whole week it fetched an average TVR of 5.3.
An elated Mr Bachchan stated “I am humbled and delighted with the performance of KBC. These numbers show that we have managed to touch a chord with the ‘aam aadmi’.”
He said further, “It is especially gratifying that it has brought whole families together across the entire country.”
Mr. Bachchan said, “Only a few days back, a viewer wrote to me saying after so many years, three generations of her family – she, along with her teenage daughter and mother-in-law – all watched television together, thanks to KBC.”
Sony Entertainment Television has edged out Zee TV with 221 GRPs while Zee TV fetched 178 GRPs .
