Mumbai: Shiney’s rape victim and family vanishes, leaving no trace: Shiney Ahuja who was accused of raping his 20 year old maid has suddenly vanished along with her family, leaving no trace behind as stated by the victim’s neighbour.
One of her neighbour’s stated “They did not inform anyone they were leaving.” Another next door neighbour stated “Earlier, the family used to hand over the house keys if they were going out of the village for a few days.
They used to keep us posted about where they were going. It is a mystery why they have left like that.” Initially the victim’s neighbour got full support from her neighbours.
Almost all the villagers were against Ahuja and sought punishment against him for his deed. Sunil Mhatre, a villager added “It beats me. I still don’t understand why she retracted her statement.” “The family was poor and they were looking for employment.”
