Mumbai: Importance should be given to promotion and encouragement of regional cinema; SRK: The latest buzz in tinsel ville these days is that King Khan is batting for regional cinema.
He stated that importance should be given to the encouragement and promotion of regional cinemas in the country.
The 44 year old actor quoted “I am speaking as a film person and do not want to get into the political agenda.” “I watch regional movies like Malayalam and Marathi on DVD at home.
Even though language is a problem, I feel the best stories on celluloid come from the regional industry. If the DVDs are brought out with sub-titles, the films would get more exposure.”
He also admitted that one of his negative qualities is that he is bad at learning regional languages but his children speak it fluently and is of the view that they will teach him.
