Mumbai: Nagesh Kukunoor got an inspiration from his brother to make Aashayein: Director Nagesh Kukunoor thanks his brother for giving him the inspiration to make “Aashayein”. His brother Dr Rajesh Kukunoor is an oncologist based in USA.
The film stars John Abraham and Sonal Sehgal. The director stated “My brother often related the case histories of his patients to us at home.
He would tell us that it was never easy having conversations with them and gauging the way they would respond.” “It was intriguing to know how these people responded.” His film is not based on the life of a particular patient but he has woven together many case histories.
Nagesh Kukunoor stated that it is easy to win the hearts of the audience with a fun, comic film but not in the case of serious films. But luckily this film has hit the box office and a pulled a chord in the hearts of the readers.
