Mumbai: She is considered the epitome of reality TV series. Born in the Bunt community to Surendra and Sunanda Shetty in 1975, Shilpa Shetty has graced over forty films so far in Hindi, Kannada, Telugu and Tamil films.
Her career began at a very young age of 16 where she was seen modeling for soft drink brand Limca. Thereafter, she debuted in Bollywood as supporting actress in the movie Baazigar (1993).
Following the success of Baazigar, she went on to play the lead in the movie Aag(1994). A number of her films went well with her fans, some of them being – Phir Milenge, Life in a… Metro, Rishtey, Pardesi Babu and Dhadkan.
Although she witnessed a slump in her career, the much necessary boost to it came through a victory in the show Celebrity Big Brother UK 2007. She was the victim of alleged racism while on the show.
She has a baby sister, Shamita Shettywho also happens t be a Bollywood actress. Shilpa Shetty will soon be tying the knot with her beau of two years, London-based millionaire Raj Kundra. The two have also picked up stake in IPL team Rajasthan Royals.
